I describe my ongoing lyrics writing projects. Where I get my ideas, how I match my words with other people's music, which little helpers I use...
I consulted rhyming dictionaries and a book on English idioms, wrote and re-wrote lines that were supposed to form the bridge. In the end I added even more lines splitting them up into three verses, now using the two-liners that I originally envisioned as verses as pre-choruses, instead. I also edited the chorus a little so it fits together with the story the verses tell. The lyrics begin:
there was so much hope when it began
we were young and made far-reaching plans
we stuck together like a hand in a glove [using an idiom I discovered, we have the same idiom in Germany; normally it's used with "fit"]
making love we couldn't get enough [there are very few rhymes for "love", I'm quite happy I could put three of them together here, adding an internal rhyme]
now there's [added to glue the parts together]
no love lost between us [these two lines were originally meant as - very short - verses]
not much hope left for us
as for you and me
I dont't seem to see
how eventually
we could work it out
I guess we got stuck [modified so it matches the rest]
where shall we end up
