I describe my ongoing lyrics writing projects. Where I get my ideas, how I match my words with other people's music, which little helpers I use...

would you still love me

nohting much to tell with regard to "lyrics in progress". I used RhymeZone a lot, otherwise it sort of wrote itself. I wrote the chorus first. It's a rather long chorus with internal repetitions. You could actually describe its internal structure as "chorus - bridge (or lift?) - chorus":

would you still love me
if I told the truth
that I never quite managed
to be faithful to you

would you still love me
if I swore by my life
that I prize you highly
as lover and wife

I love you dearly [different melody]
and I always will
right now I am fearing
that my words might kill

would you still love me
if I told the truth
that I never quite managed
to be faithful to you

would you still love me
if I swore by my life
that I prize you highly
as lover and wife

The song begins with the chorus. There are two verses:

it's been on the cards
that you might find out
old habits die hard
there is no doubt
I kept having affairs
I just couldn't stop
I may not have been fair
and stupid on top

and

I'm not complex [with the stress on the last syllable]
I'm only a man
I'm lusting for sex
I never acted to plan
I kept you out of my mind
when I had my fun
I still can't regret
what I have done

Should a song based on this version become too long you could always fall back on a more conventional structure, beginning with a verse, next the lift, then the chorus with only two parts, and so on.
