When I write for myself I'd normally begin with a tune in my head and one or two phrases for the chorus. Later I'd complete the text for the chorus and add the verses, normally without a tune for the verses at that time. Two of my recent projects both began without the faintest idea as for their tune. One is "shall I live", a rather pessimistic ecological poem, the other is "Europa", probably my most ambitious lyrics so far, well then, maybe not too different to "Spartacus" with regard to ambition. I've recorded "shall I live", but for "Europa" there is still no melody. I asked Alex, if he could possibly set it to music because I would love some Greek influence, it would be quite suitable.
