I describe my ongoing lyrics writing projects. Where I get my ideas, how I match my words with other people's music, which little helpers I use...
My favorite three-piece blues-rock band has become a four piece band. With Nici they have gained additional femal vocals. This means that more lyrics will have to be written from a female perspective. Holger has sent two new songs that still lack lyrics. The structure of the first song is:
verse - prechorus - chorus
verse - prechorus - chorus
bridge
verse - prechorus - chorus
bridge [well, you couldn't actually call this part bridge at this postion. It's the same melody, though. Somewhere I read the term 'tag', so maybe this bridge is a tag? Whatever...]
I've begun with the pre-chorus where I actually added two lines that I seemed to need to top it off. I'm currently asking Holger if that would be fine with him:
in our life
shit can happen
there are times
things go wrong
but tonight
I am happy
'cos tonight
I feel strong
Next the chorus:
tonight I'm the star
the spotlight's on me
tonight I'm your star
your goddess, your queen [femal vocals, you see ;-)]
Have a real cool weekend!
