That would mean going back to the verse - verse - verse structure. One method to prevent this structure from becoming boring could be having two different melodies for the verses, so the structure would actually be A B A B ... instead of A A A A. I did that with "Spartacus" (and "Gilgamesh" as well) and was quite happy with it.
