I describe my ongoing lyrics writing projects. Where I get my ideas, how I match my words with other people's music, which little helpers I use...
After completing the lyrics for "fallen victim" I found that the tune varies in the chorus as well as the verses making it more interesting. I had overlooked this when writing my lyrics because I used the first part of the chorus as a template for the second and the first verse as template for all others. This makes my lyrics just a draft at the moment. I will have to listen to the music several times to see where I have to 'tweak' or even rewrite lines of text.
These are my drafted lyrics:
we met at a dance
just by chance
we danced once or twice
stranger-wise
when I left the bar
to get the car
I saw you at the door
like a decor
you gazed at me
anxiously
I paused for a while
with a smile
time was standing still
'gainst my will
I took a step or two
toward you
I watched you watching me and saw your smile
and I realized
that I like your style
lost for words, I felt insecure
'cause I was falling victim
to your allure
it seemed like weeks
before we would meet
in the bar again -
I was with a man -
when you signalled me
I felt glee
I slipped you a note
leaving with hope
first we were discreet
yet we would meet
every other day
in a cafe
or at some place
out of the way
love on stolen time
so sublime
I watched you watching me and saw your smile
and I realized
that I like your style
lost for words, I felt insecure
'cause I was falling victim
to your allure
you changed your course
getting divorced
with all time in the world
our story unfurled
you came to stay
one summer day
our time of bliss
started like this
first an affair
now two lives shared
bright times ahead
in and out the bed
enjoying your caress,
our togetherness
feeling safe and calm
in your arms
I watch you watching me and note your smile
and I realize
that I like your style
lost for words, I feel so secure
'cause I've fallen victim
to your allure
I watch you watching me and note your smile
and I realize
that I like your style
lost for words, I feel so secure
'cause I've fallen victim
to your allure
