Via Rhymezone I accessed OneLook ( a web dictionary) to find "demoralized". I altered the second verse, too, because the line "her voice the most beautiful sound" did not really match the intonation.

I also worked on the chorus a little more. The chorus has two parts, or rather variants. After the second verse only the second part or variant is used. That's why I placed the title/hook there so it's repeated three times in the song:
