I describe my ongoing lyrics writing projects. Where I get my ideas, how I match my words with other people's music, which little helpers I use...
At the moment I'm about to find words for two pieces of music. I normally begin with the chorus. Peter's tune has the structure: verse - verse - chorus - verse - verse - chorus - verse - verse - chorus - chorus - chorus
The first version for the chorus I noted after listening to the tune three or four times goes:
I watch you watching me and note your smile
and I realize
that I like your style
you've got meaningful for my whole life [here the intonation would be a little tricky]
sometimes it feels like
we were man and wife
Since I was not quite happy with that one I wrote another:
I'm lost for words, I feel so insecure
('cause) I've fallen victim [the word 'cause' is optional, could work both ways]
to your allure
you cast your spell on me, now I am lost
I've surrendered to
your love at any cost
And this is the suggested chorus I sent Peter:
I watch you watching me and note your smile
and I realize
that I like your style
I'm lost for words, I feel so insecure
'cause I've fallen victim
to your allure
