I've read that much patriotic crap on certain songwriter forums that I think the time has come for me to write some 'anti war song'. I'm going to do it my way, obviously ;-)
It's title might become "no war hero". I'm thinking along the lines that the body of a soldier is brought home, yet that he was not exactly a war hero and will not receive any posthumous decorations. I've begun gathering words, ideas and phrases:
it's not a war hero who's arriving at his home town in a body bag
just another casualty killed by friendly fire
never got near the combat zone
finding relief in a brothel near the army camp
killing innocents to kill time
glory
war decoration
Nothing much at the moment, I'm afraid. But you can see which direction I'm heading.
