Out of the blue there were these lines in my head. I put them down so as not to forget them:
leave me some air to breathe
leave me some room to roam
'cause if you don't change your ways
I won't be coming home
They will make the chorus of a new song. Somehow the image of a phone call stuck to my mind where "I" am trying to explain to "her" why I had to leave. So, today I wrote down a few lines that may make the first verse:
hard to explain on the phone
what it was that made me go
I've not been cheating on you
there are things that I wouldn't do
