"Welcome to hell" is one of the titles Karsten suggested and which I took to immediately. Now, how do I go from there?
1. define the subject
Well, I've got a title. In the verses I would like to describe different kinds of hell, or different kinds of "hellish" situations. Similar to the song "fairy" I wrote for Holger. Independend episodes rather than a continuous story. Two situations came to my mind spontaneously: dying into hell (that's rather obvious), and being born into hell (into a desolute world). I would like to have a third episode. Got to think about this, I didn't even check how many verses Karsten has planned.
2. collecting ideas, words, and phrases which might fit the subject
I don't care about syllables, lines, or meters at this step. It's rather like brainstorming. The sorting out comes later.
Here are my first ideas (I've grouped them a bit, so they might look a little like verse and chorus - they aren't):
when you are born you'd open your eyes,
you'd open your mind to find a world of miracles
mesmerized by an abundance of colors, a richness of smells
spellbound by the magic of touch, the mystery of love
but don't open your eyes too wide
don't start to think
'cause your
welcome to hell
when you're dead do you expect to be rewarded for the good deeds you'd done
or will you be punished for the sins you'd preferred to forget
do you expect justice, or even redemption
but don't expect too much
don't delight or rejoice
'cause you're
welcome to hell
