Now, that Fredy has published his version of "Angel", which makes it the third tune for the same lyrics*, I somehow got inspired to write something else about angels. The line "where angels go to weep" sprang to my mind (and yes, it's a very very sad line, I'm quite happy, though, thanks for asking). I went from there.

First I looked up rhymes for "weep": deep, sleep, keep - or probably more difficult to use: reap, sweep, creep, steep. I noted:

she says "I cannot sleep
where the angels go to weep"

Next I invented a sad situation putting down the line: "the rush hour's craze took its toll". Yet again I looked up available rhymes and decided on "console": "a victims spouse to console".

Then I got kind of stuck. I had put down the lines:

"her kid, too young to understand

suddenly stands in the door"

... which don't rhyme. So I looked up rhymes for "stand". This is the result:

the rush hour's craze took its toll
a victims spouse to console
her kid, too young to understand,
reaches for her mother's hand
and says "I cannot sleep
where the angels go to weep"

But note that you don't have to have a rhyme to each single line, maybe in the end I'll decide on:

the rush hour's craze took its toll
a victims spouse to console
her kid, too young to understand,
suddenly stands in the door
and says "I cannot sleep
where the angels go to weep"

So much as for today's lunch time creative boost...

* since I never published my version there actually are 'only' two different tunes:

"Angel" by the Selfastrays

"Angel" by Komir
