I've written the verses. BUT: yet again I walked into the trap of using the same meter for all parts of the song. Preferably, the meters should differ between verse and chorus (and pre-chorus). Yet once I am in writing mode everthing I'm writing tends to match the same meter. This can be fixed by either sufficiently different tunes or by adding syllables here and there, or maybe adding, deleting, or shifting whole lines. Anyway, I've got my little romantic story. I can do the re-writing and fine-tuning when I've got some response from my co-writer. These are the verses:

He:

worn out and tired [might be extended to "I was ...", for example]
after a hard working day
with no-one waiting
for me at home
an after-work drink
to fill the void
trying to block out
feeling alone

She:

he looked so tired
I tried cheering him up
to find a soul mate
with who I could talk
'bout all and sundry
until the wee hours
in the rising sun
we took a walk

[pre-chorus]

[chorus]

He:

since that evening
we have been lovers
since that evening
my life has changed
She:

since that evening
nothing could come between us
since that evening
our lives have changed

[pre-chorus]

[chorus]

[interlude9

[chorus]
