I hadn't come up with any viable ideas for a couple of days. Since Steve suggested to try writing the song from the assassin's perspective I tried that approach - and new ideas started flowing again. This is what I put down on saturday:
Verse I
I'm the Knight Templar
fighting for the good cause
I'll die an honored martyr
I won't rest, I won't pause [I used my rhyming dictionary here]
I'll point the way for others
a beacon in the night [I used a dictionary here scrapping "signal", and preferring "beacon"]
we'll stand for one another
in out righteous fight
Verse II
I'll accept no weakness and no laxity our efforts will be ceaseless to end democracy | |
I'm the Nordic hero I'm the guiding light I'm the modern Nero a Caesar's always right | [actually I wrote the following lines first, rhyming on 'ight' would not be placed |
I also wrote a bridge (or whatever a different part would be called here as there is no chorus):
if you want to win the war
hit the enemies at their core
never mind some casualties
don't waste your time with trivialities
like their misconceived humanity
