I told you about my scrap book that's actually a text file on the computer. It's where I put down my ideas that eventually may or may not become the spark for new song lyrics. After pillaging the scrap book for a while it's time to add new 'scraps' or sketches:
you crawled out of my dream
to share your life with me
and after waking up
remain a mystery
you're still a mystery to me
*********
you're fat, and rich, and useless
go and get away
you're fat, and rich, and useless
don't you spoil my day
I think of both as choruses. The chorus is normally the first part of a song that I come up with. I have a tune in my mind, with the tune come matching words that after a little tweaking and twisting actually begin to make sense. Next I either sit down and try to invent stories or situations that fit together with the chorus - or I 'park' my ideas in the scrap book. Like this time.
