... which means Blues, or rather Blues Rock. Kai from Norway was looking for a lyricist who would find words to his music. I found his post on an American songwriting board. Fortunately, that approach is kind of my speciality, so we got together rather quickly. Stunt, the band Kai plays in, does Stevie Ray Vaughan covers among others - so you might imagine that I was very keen indeed to help them create their own songs (I have everything Stevie ever recorded plus quite a few DVDs, I'm a great fan!).

Like Holger from MotorPlanet Kai sings nonsense lines in the song sketch he sent me. He even put the words down so I could use them as a template to get the meter right. Although it's not that important to match the number of syllables when writing for Blues and Blues Rock music you should match the meter, of course. Fortunately, the English language makes it easy to match words with music because many (most?) words consist of just one or two syllables, there are hardly any compound words as in the German language.

I have used considerably less words and syllables compared to Kai's dummy text, but I think that should actually make it easier to sing them. I've called the song "I'm not the man for you", here is an excerpt:

you claim you've got a right to escapades 'cause you're undecided
just get on with this, but let me tell you that you are misguided
I turned a blind eye to your cheats - you know that I've tried it
now I know that I am not
the man for you
no, Baby, I am not
the man for you

Now I hope that my lyrics are to Kai's liking and that we can fit it in his music nicely so we'll get a great piece of Blues Rock music (I just love his riff!).
