I had to consult my rhyming dictionary quite a lot. Thus I found "dust" as a rhyme for "disgust", "bright" for "might", "gain" for "vain", "den" for "men". On the internet I also had found "bombs" for "qualms", which is not exactly great, but will have to do.
I also re-arranged the lines, and adjusted them to the music (the dashes mark little breaks in the melody, well, in the accompaniment, since there is not melody yet). Sometimes there is an unaccented extra syllable which will require an upbeat note, but that should be fine.
Although I liked my expression "they'd grow an Eiffel tower" a lot, I'll leave it out completely. I've copied it into my "scrap book" for later use exchanging "Eiffel tower" with "Dubai tower". The lyrics have generally turned out more bitter, which is okay by me. I'm not so keen on writing moral songs like "pride comes before a fall", which is actually the subject of "rise and fall", so getting more mean and angry fits me quite well.
A text for the introduction is still outstanding. I might refer to the current economical crisis which has basically been caused by irresponsible bankers. I'll see what Karsten will think about it.
rise and fall
they're the guys in power - but the're only men
dumb, misleaded creatures - conspirin' in their den
they think themselves so bright - because of their might
even if they finish - what they have commenced
'cause they do not live for - but they live against
what they've done for gain - could well prove in vain
rise and fall
they think themselves so tall
fly high'n touch the sky, but
finally they'll fall and cry
yesterday a rugrat - today the big shot
they've gone to any length - to get what they have got
they don't have any qualms - using lies or bombs
they won't find our approval - but our disgust
like they have been born - they'll crumble into dust
once that they are dead - no tears will be shed
rise and fall
they think themselves so tall
pushing us around, but
soon will hit the ground
[Solo]
rise and fall
they think themselves so tall
fly high'n touch the sky, but
finally they'll fall and cry
rise and fall
they think themselves so tall
pushing us around, but
soon will hit the ground
