A quick one. I wrote first what later became the last part:
I greeted the man in the mirror,
said kindly “How do you do”
he smiled, then winked and answered
“I think that I know you, too”
I looked at the man in the coffin
he looked familiar to me
he said I could either seize my time
or simply wait and see
or simply wait and see
The other verses later wrote themselves: meeting a girl, waiting for a promotion. They kind of suggested a logical order - dying comes last, doesn't it?
