I describe my ongoing lyrics writing projects. Where I get my ideas, how I match my words with other people's music, which little helpers I use...
I had made notes during my business trip early this week trying to find matching words to my syllable counts for Alex' composition. Since I never take computers with me I had no chance to match my words with the actual music. A mp3 player would have been of no use since I'd have had to jump back and forth in the music file all the time. That's what I did this morning. The words I had put down did hardly fit at all since they did neither regard short notes nor the intonation. So I spent this morning shifting, deleting, and inserting words. The ugliest line I wrote is "I love to groove and to be dancing" - it sounds quite clumsy when you read it but it matches the notes perfectly.
Intro:
Oh, I'm in the mood to toy and tease
I know I can coax and please
messin' around makes me feel like
Verse:
flirting time
oh I feel like it
it lies in the way you are dancing
the way that you show off your body
looking gorgeously sexy tonight
Chorus:
play with me
dance with me
yeah, play with me
don't fear the fire
play with me
dance with me
yeah, play with me
touch me, kiss me, love me
Verse:
party time
oh I feel like it
I love to groove and to be dancing
and I like to show off my body
feeling gorgeously sexy tonight
play with me...
