I describe my ongoing lyrics writing projects. Where I get my ideas, how I match my words with other people's music, which little helpers I use...

nobody cares (re-writing "a place to live")

(the other) Bernd has taken a liking to the lyrics that I called "a place to live". As he doesn't seem to care much for its chorus he changed the title to "nobody cares". There was too much pathos in the chorus, I guess:

trying to catch a healthy dream
of a place where one could live
where between humanity
and nature there's a take and give

Instead, he uses the third verse as chorus:

don't drink the water
don't breathe the air
this place is polluted
'cause nobody cared

The first two verses will still serve as verse(s). But now we are one verse (or two verses, depending on how you interpret the structure) short. The chorus also should be extended.

This is what I sent him a few minutes ago:

nobody cares

contaminated food
radiating fish
diners stopped to brood
so they can enjoy their dish

it's out of the news
it's out of our minds
but there is no excuse
although we're acting blind

don't drink the water
don't breathe the air
this place is polluted
'cause nobody cared

there is no hope
save all your prayers
this place is polluted
'cause nobody cared

nobody cares

now the streets are deserted
and big money has gone
nature's been perverted
destruction has won

our industrial wastes
float towards the sea
a human wreck hastens
he's trying to flee

don't drink the water
don't breathe the air
this place is polluted
'cause nobody cared

there is no hope
save all your prayers
this place is polluted
'cause nobody cared

nobody cares

Maybe you'd like to compare it to the former text:
