I describe my ongoing lyrics writing projects. Where I get my ideas, how I match my words with other people's music, which little helpers I use...
I browsed through my lyrics that haven't been set to music yet to see if I could find one that might be adapted to the accompaniment I completed recently. And I was lucky. "drunken night" fitted perfectly in parts, I just had to shorten a few lines (every second line, actually) and insert another verse - and Bingo! There we are. This is the new version:
drunken night
could have been a word you said
or just lust unfulfilled
maybe that my inner beast
needed to be stilled
in my fury I just slammed the door
headin' for the nearest bar
where I tossed down a drink too much
all sounds came from afar
all sounds
from afar
I maybe searching for some thing
that cannot be found
my head spinning, my gait unsteady
on the shaky ground
I am wandering aimlessly
through the drunken night
my future right ahead of me
is keeping out of sight
my future's
out of sight
eventually my rage dissolves
what was it what went wrong?
I've just got the vague idea
that we can't get along
and I'm wandering aimlessly
through the drunken night
my future right ahead of me
is keeping out of sight
in this
drunken night
maybe I'll come never back
or I'll scratch at your door
maybe I will feel ashamed
'cause I've been there before
I'm still wandering aimlessly
through the drunken night
my future right ahead of me
is keeping out of sight
in this
drunken night
The added verse is "I maybe searching for some thing...". Fits in nicely, doesn't it?
