instead of:
he will leave traces
o'r many places
the ancestry clearly showing in their faces
he will leave traces
It's not exactly clear who 'he' is. I was thinking of the old guy, yet it might just as well be the baby. I believe that the new version is more 'generic', i.e. leaving that decision open.
