I describe my ongoing lyrics writing projects. Where I get my ideas, how I match my words with other people's music, which little helpers I use...
An adjustment: it will have to be "can't" instead of "cannot" to match the meter. And here's the bridge:
am I
losing both
you and my best friend
have our
love and friendship
both reached a dead end
Should you wonder why it has taken me so long to come up with these - basically just two -lines: this is due to the fact that I had to listen to my recorded accompaniment several times to envision a viable tune so I could then find matching words for that tune. It need not even be the particular tune that I later will actually sing. The point is that the words must fit in - somehow ;-)
I may also alter the structure of the song a bit by shifting the solo and the second verse, and I may omit the last repetition of the chorus or let just the guitar accompaniment fade out. No need to decide now, I can see to such issues once I've recorded the whole song. That's clearly an advantage of recording on the computer, it makes cutting, pasting, and shifting parts ever so easy.
