I describe my ongoing lyrics writing projects. Where I get my ideas, how I match my words with other people's music, which little helpers I use...
CHORUS:
girl, I never reached you
you just used to turn me down
girl, you never let me
help when you were about to drown
A bit corny, I know. I liked my former line with 'my helping hand', but I couldn't find any viable rhyme that would fit. The repeated "you" is still there, and still annoying me. The filler word "just" doesn't make the text any better, and the end of the last line "... were about to drown" is not a perfect match to the tune. But the message is clear, and I'll leave it at that for the time being.
At least I've written the BRIDGE:
I've always felt so close to you
I shared your worries and I shared your bliss
I've always been so close to you
I shared your good times and your nemesis
