Gilgamesh?

In my mind a rather daring little project is beginning to take shape. I read historical fiction once about Gilgamesh and discovered a translation of the original epic recently (based on the version of 1200 BC). In his comments the editor compares the path of Gilgamesh to Siddartha Gautama (Buddha). And now I’m considering to squeeze these legends into verses (by the way, one of my all-time favorite books is Herman Hesse’s “Siddhartha"). I have not the faintest idea if I can create some kind of combined lyrics or should rather deal with them seperately. In a combined version I would try to link the Gilgamesh epos to Siddharta in the chorus and/or bridge. Similar to the manner I use to link historical or mythological stories to the present (Ganymede, Europa, Spartacus).

Whatever, to put it in a nutshell: another piece of folk is in the pipeline, partly thanks to the encouragement by my songwriting colleagues from Songwriter101.com.
