I checked the symptoms that crack addicts may show on Wikipedia:
lack of sleep, restlessness, paranoia, losing touch with reality, delusional parasitosis (the belief that you are infested with parasites), hallucinations about insects, skin damage due to scratching oneself.
I also checked if the expression "to go hustling" is being used (Google, dictionary), it is.
As a result I added two more lines to my text fragment:
the boy is longing desperatley for another high
* while he can feel tiny bugs crawl under his skin
he doesn't know how he'll make it yet another night
* will he be able to go hustling in the state he's in
Nothing much at the moment, I'm afraid. But it's growing...
