"carpe diem"

- "seize the day". That's my life's credo. And it shines through, in one way or the other, in quite a few song lyrics I've written. At the moment I am compiling a song or lyrics collection that will be dedicated to this subject. I also intend to add comments as to why (well, that should be more or less obvious) and how I addressed my motto in each particular song, maybe in the manner I added personal remarks in my first collections (see "Bernd's first hundred lyrics", for example).

I was actually surprised how few of my song lyrics deal with my credo! Most lyrics I've written are indeed rather ordinarly love songs - well, to be more specific, songs about personal relationships, not exactly always 'nice' ones. In parts, this might have to do with writing to order. Anyway, I've made out 33 lyrics that I think I'll include in the collection (a few are doubtful, as their reference to the "carpe diem" motto is either trite or quite indirect):

about living elsewhere, be a star, by the seven seas, close your eyes, Death and the Devil, farewell, fuck being cool, how does it feel?, I feel - I live, I won't give in, it's all there, listen to the river, look forward, lost in space, no future – no past, no more, one of seven billion, pastures new, peaceful times, sooner or later, stand by yourself, terminal disease, the sound of nations, you're perfect, love on the dance floor, Vanity, virtuality, when there's nothing else

more or less banal:

dancing in the rain, dancing through the light, legalize me

doubtful:

hold on, make me real
