I describe my ongoing lyrics writing projects. Where I get my ideas, how I match my words with other people's music, which little helpers I use...
During our vacation on Corsica we witnessed an accident. It happend right beside us. There was a bang and some crunching noise. When I turned my head I saw that the side of a passing car was heavily dented. The car slowly drove to the shoulder of the road clearing the view so that we could spot a motorcycle, a bag and some metal parts scattered on the road. Fortunately, quite instantly a few helpers turned up who would be able to speak French, so we decided to drive on. Thus we never found out what happend to the biker.
This is a rather long story behind just one line that I put down:
"tires screeched, we heard a bang and some crunching noise"
... that I soon expanded:
"somebody screamed, then there was a timid, whining voice"
(that's fictitious)
I also noted a fragment for a chorus:
"in the wink of an eye
with no reason why"
Today I added two more lines for a possible second verse. So here is what I have at the moment for a song that eventually may be called "in the wink of an eye":
tires screeched, we heard a bang and some crunching noise
somebody screamed, then there was a timid, whining voice
...
the sea was roaring and the surf was pounding violently
a boat was missing somewhere out there in the open sea
...
in the wink of an eye
with no reason why
...
Nothing much, is it? Well, it's "lyrics in progress", isn't it?
