This was my first approach:
loving again
A:
I was witness to your hardship,
to your sorrow
there was nothing that I could do - or say
that would open your eyes
B:
tonight
for the first time,
you are happy
for the first time,
you feel loved
C:
I've always cared for you, hoping to see you happy
I've seen your pain, felt your hurt, your suf'ring
now your eyes shine again
you're smiling again
trusting again,
loving again
you're smiling again
trusting again,
loving again
D:
such things may happen sometimes
you're careless and green
falling in love with the wrong one
it can take its time to learn
to see through lies
and deception
B:
tonight
for the first time,
you are happy
for the first time,
you feel loved
C:
I've always cared for you, hoping to see you happy
I've seen your pain, felt your hurt, your suf'ring
now your eyes shine again
you're smiling again
trusting again,
loving again
you're smiling again
trusting again,
loving again
E:
when you love
you can put things behind
and even forgive
C:
I've always cared for you, hoping to see you happy
I've seen your pain, felt your hurt, your suf'ring
now your eyes shine again
you're smiling again
trusting again,
loving again
you're smiling again
trusting again,
loving again
Alex had provided the composition including vocals with some dummy text. I tried to figure out the structure of the song. Being not quite sure which part should be interpreted as chorus I simply named its parts "A", "B", "C", and so on. I wrote the text on top of the dummy text I had put down, trying to match its meter. Since I wrote it while I had no access to my computer I could not double-check if or how my text would actually match the tune. Part "E" in particular would need re-checking.
