Alex composes instrumental music. When he wanted to write his first song he asked me to write the lyrics. That was about a year ago. I never heard from him again. Out of a sudden he now sent his first song. He also has added notes as to the subject. The song shall be about a young man who falls in love with an older woman, he is very insecure and fears that she might reject him.
This would be the pattern for the chorus:
- X - X - X - X - X
- X - X - X - X
- X - X - X - X - X
X - X - X
('-' and 'X' mark syllables, where the 'X' stands for stressed syllables)
And this is the text I propose:
how can I make her take me seriously
what may I look like in her eyes
I am afraid that she might laugh 'bout me
behind a friendly smile
There is an extra syllable in the last line, which I think will work. So, the pattern for the last line of the chorus now looks like this:
- X - X - X
