For quite a while a melody and the lines for a chorus have been in my mind. The lines were:
we tried to kill the master
and rescue all the slaves
bein' led into disaster
we're crying at their graves
This would have to be about some mislead revolution, either historical or historizing. I dismissed this idea, though. Instead, I will write a song about the 1970's generation (my generation), about our hopes, ideals, and silly ideas. This is to become the chorus:
we had high expectations
were reaching for the stars
we did not think of fam'lies,
pot bellies, or posh cars.
The - probably three - verses will be about propagating free love, fighting all kinds of hierarchies, and longing for love and peace.
Well, we'll see.
