I think I'll soon publish my third 'big' lyrics compilation. Publishing them in an ordered manner on a server that has an accepted and reliable publishing policy helps proving my copyright. After "Bernd's first hundred lyrics" and "Bernd's second hundred lyrics" I would have liked to publish "Bernd's third hundred lyrics". Yet although I've written a lot this year I've not written that much. I didn't quite make it, so to speak. Which inspired a further lyric idea: "not quite". The chorus will probably read:
I thought I could have made it
to find that I'd been fated
all my chances did seem to have faded

all my chances did seem to have faded
It's going to be another 'episodical' lyric, i.e. I'll tell three different stories in the verses that all deal with not quite making it:
- a child trying to jump over a ditch
- a young man trying to make a girl
- a man in trouble at sea trying to reach the life belt ( I already used a similar image in "lost", maybe I'll replace it with a different scene); I'll need to vary the chorus to work for this verse.
