These are two verses I wrote down for "Spartacus". They don't make much sense by themselves yet. The idea is, that Spartacus reflects about the long term outcome of his rebellion after his death.
so you think that you can humble
the proud men they'd become
tied to their crosses
soiled with their own feces
stinking of decay
so you think you have broken
who'd tasted freedom once
so you're making an example
to deter the living
breaking their resistance
shatterin' secret hopes
and dashing all their dreams
so you think you have broken
who'd sensed freedom once
so you think that you can humble
the proud men they'd become
tied to their crosses
soiled with their own feces
stinking of decay
so you think you have broken
who'd tasted freedom once
so you're making an example
to deter the living
breaking their resistance
shatterin' secret hopes
and dashing all their dreams
so you think you have broken
